Photoinitiator is an indispensable product in the formulation of photocuring products, but the commonly used photoinitiator is usually a small molecule product, and its decomposition products are not environmentally friendly, causing harm to human experience.

In 2005, Italian authorities found traces of the photoinitiator ITX in baby milk packaging, which eventually led to the recall and destruction of 30m litres of baby milk contaminated by photocuring ink on the packaging. A recent study in the United States found different photoinitiator components in 100 percent of 1000 tested serum samples, indicating that this contamination has become ubiquitous. The benzoyl structure of cracked photoinitiators also presents problems with the products produced during the photocuring process, especially volatile and odorous substances, such as benzaldehyde. In addition, degradation and recombination of aromatic initiators pose risks of mutagenesis and toxicity to humans. In other words, even if the photoinitiator itself is safe, the photoinitiator itself and its products will also bring harm to the migration of the polymer network. The vast majority of commercial photoinitiators used today are aromatic compounds, which has led to a strong interest in the industrial use of non-aromatic photoinitiators.

Photoinitiators are mainly used in photocuring materials. Through the selection, composition ratio and mixing of four categories of UV monomers, UV resins, photoinitiators and additives, UV light curing formula products can meet the requirements of various substrates, various coatings/printing processes, environmental conditions and different coating properties.

According to the different uses of UV light curing formula products, UV light curing formula products are generally divided into UV light curing coatings, UV light curing inks, UV light curing adhesives and so on. The light curing materials (UV coating, UV ink, UV adhesive, etc.) are widely used in PCB, microelectronics processing, paper making, household appliances, wood processing, home decoration, automobile, printing, machinery, 3D printing, sports industry, biomedicine, optical fiber communication and other industries.
