Development and characteristics of UV ink

With the development of short and personalized printing and packaging industry and the rise of large-format inkjet advertising, inkjet printing technology has been widely used. At the same time, UV ink, as one of the main types of ink used, has attracted the attention of the industry with many advantages such as high efficiency and environmental protection.

UV inks were developed on the basis of light curing coatings in the 1960s. Since then, UV ink has continued to develop and gain more and more applications.

From the point of printing substrate material, UV ink has a wide range of application, in plate, plastic, glass, wood, ceramic tile and metal and other hard materials can be printed. Since UV ink does not have drying time problems, it can improve production efficiency. After printing, UV ink generally takes 1/10 of a second to completely adhere to the surface of the substrate.

UV light can not only cure the ink surface, but also penetrate into the ink to stimulate the further curing of the deep ink film. Compared with traditional ink, UV ink's photopolymerization curing is more thorough, and does not generate any solvent-based pollutants, which is more environmentally friendly.

UV ink has good stability and does not contain insoluble substances, which effectively avoids the blockage of the print head and can effectively extend the service life of the print head. UV curing device has compact structure, space saving capacity, high processing speed, high production efficiency. The UV curing process ensures a thinner film and excellent performance, thus reducing the consumption of raw materials and helping to reduce costs.
